The lines that have formed on your upper face do not stand a chance when you have BOTOX Cosmetic injections in your aesthetic treatment lineup at Willowbend Med Spa. In less than 10 – 15 minutes, our skilled injector and board-certified OB/GYN, Dr. Deanah Jibril, can place BOTOX between the eyebrows, on the Crow’s feet, and across the forehead. This injectable procedure provides outstanding results and is very common among both men and women. BOTOX can make a significant enhancement to dynamic lines, which are made from expressive movement with the muscles contracting on the forehead and around the eyes. The lines disappear as the face relaxes, but dynamic folds can still exist. BOTOX is a clean and purified strain of botulinum toxin (type A) that temporarily blocks the movements of the facial muscle. To soften these dynamic wrinkles, BOTOX is injected to smooth the skin. Come in for a BOTOX consultation with Dr. Jibril at Willowbend Med Spa soon to see what can be done with your aging skin.

BOTOX is great for both men and women who wish to soften the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles on their face without surgery. It is effectively used as a preventive treatment even if you do not show signs of aging — keep in mind how often you tend to make any facial expressions. It’s a terrific nonsurgical treatment if you are frustrated by forehead lines or parallel lines between the brows. It’s also a solution for lines around the eyes. If you have deeper lines, a filler product may be more suitable. In addition, if you are older with sagging skin and widespread wrinkles, you may be considered for something more invasive (like a facelift). Injections of BOTOX offers a more dramatic result where you need it most.

BOTOX injections are performed as an outpatient treatment at Willowbend Med Spa. If it is your first time to visit us in Plano, TX for BOTOX, we commonly perform your injections on the same appointment as your consultation with Dr. Jibril. You will be asked to make a few facial expressions using your upper face, such as squinting, frowning, etc., which will allow us to determine where the BOTOX needs to be placed. Your skin will be cleansed and BOTOX will be applied with a fine needle, followed by a cold compress to help reduce bruising, swelling, and discomfort. You can request a cold pack before the injections to make the area more numb to make the injections more comfortable, but it generally is unnecessary. BOTOX injections typically take about 10 – 15 minutes, then you can resume to your normal routine with no required recovery period.

After the procedure, you may get back to your usual routine, but strenuous activity should be skipped for at least one day. You will be asked to sleep with your head elevated for the first night and to not touch your face. Your skin may appear red, bruised, or swollen for 2 – 3 days, but you will not develop any long-lasting or serious side effects. In many cases, it often takes about 5 – 7 days before the full effects of BOTOX can be seen. The results usually last 3 – 4 months. You should speak to Dr. Jibril about how often to schedule your next appointment at Willowbend Med Spa to extend your results.

How long will my results last?
Your BOTOX results can last up to four months and as long as six months. Most patients make an appointment every season to maintain their smooth skin, but you may come back sooner. If you are getting BOTOX while you are younger as a preventive treatment, you may be able to schedule treatments further apart. After listening to your goals and developing your treatment plan, Dr. Jibril will be able to estimate when you should get on the schedule for your next BOTOX session.

How much does BOTOX cost?
The cost of BOTOX will depend on how much product is used. This will vary based on your needs and goals. During your consultation, Dr. Jibril will develop your personal treatment plan before she can estimate your costs. BOTOX can produce impressive results when performed by Dr. Jibril, but it can be unsafe if done by someone without training, which is why it’s better to avoid places offering super cheap injections.

What’s the difference between wrinkle relaxers and fillers?
Wrinkle relaxers (like BOTOX) and wrinkle fillers (like Juvéderm and Restylane) are both treatments that reduce wrinkles and smooth fine lines. BOTOX relaxes overused facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, like frown lines (between the eyebrows), Crow’s feet (in the outer corners of the eyes), forehead wrinkles, and smile lines. Injectable fillers add volume under the skin to correct hollow areas and decrease static wrinkles. After listening to your goals, Dr. Jibril may recommend BOTOX, fillers, or a combination of both for a liquid “facelift.”

Is BOTOX safe?
When used properly, BOTOX rarely causes any complications. With that said, it is important to select someone who has training in handling injectables, like Dr. Jibril. Overusing BOTOX can create an undesirable outcome. A skilled practitioner will use just enough of the medication to effectively freeze the muscles that cause wrinkles while leaving nearby muscles unaffected. As one of the most popular cosmetic treatments on the market today, it’s safe and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Let’s take back a few years with BOTOX injections to stop muscles from contracting in your upper face. You can frown, smile, laugh, and make any expression you want without seeing wrinkles and lines thanks to BOTOX wrinkle relaxer. To prevent and even out lines across your face, we invite you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Jibril in Plano, TX at the Willowbend Med Spa to hear more about this popular nonsurgical injectable.
